While technological advancements are constantly reshaping the landscape, as of December 29, 2023, both the ceremony and civil contract registration for legal marriage in Abu Dhabi require physical presence at the designated court.

No, getting married in the civil court in Abu Dhabi from home is not yet available. However, it’s fair to acknowledge that the process is improving quickly. This option may become one day available. But as of now, on 29/12/23, you will have to physically go to court to get married.

Same, at the moment this is not an option. Both people should be physically present in the civil court in Abu Dhabi to tie the knot in front of the judge.

What is now available online at the Abu Dhabi civil court?

Abu Dhabi & Dubai Sharia online marriage

Couples looking for Islamic marriage under the Sharia court have the option to do it online. Please note that the requirements are different and tend to be more complicated than the ones requested for Abu Dhabi civil weddings.

What are the available for online weddings outside of the UAE? 

US online civil wedding

It is possible to get married online through the US court. It’s important to keep in mind that not all countries will recognize such weddings. So yes it is possible but you should talk to our wedding experts to confirm if you’re entitled to it. 

Online Nikah wedding 

For some couples, it is also possible to get married online in front of an Imam. This online ceremony may or not be recognized at a later stage. It is also crucial to talk to our experts to make sure that you’re choosing the right option for your case. This option is not available in the UAE.
